Photographer Dorian Ulises López Macías and In The Park Productions began their collaboration six years ago. What started as a playful experiment became an attempt to show what the (industrial) fashion world did not want people to see: authentic Mexican faces. Even, or especially, when collaborating with major brands and magazines in the industry the artists remain true to the(ir) Mexican identity.
The selection of images shows how Ulises López Macías and In The Park do not conform to Eurocentric canons of beauty, but decide to capture the real Mexican beauties. Through their work they push the boundaries and aesthetic standards of fashion, giving importance to the true representation of identities, bodies and genders.
